CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA

ANOTHER BROKEN EGG CAFE

South Market Street borders the famous, Historic Charleston City Market along with North Market Street. Another Broken Egg is a brunch joint serving up creative menu items based off of eggs. I ordered the Mexican inspired omelette with side of sour cream, salsa and cheesy grits. The two floor restaurant is a great spot to meet family and friends before a lengthy time shopping at the city market.

TACO BOY

Taco Boy is located just off of the Septima Clark Parkway. Are you a fan of chips and guac, fish tacos or Mexican street corn? Well you're in luck as Taco Boy serves all of these and more! The outdoor seating area is surrounded by beautiful plants. The umbrellas and chairs add the theme by being multicolored and vibrant. There's nothing better than seeing your tacos arrive in the warm tinfoil. Couple those tacos with a triple dip order consisting of salsa, guacamole and queso.

CARMELLA'S

Cumberland Street, just a block away from the water in the French Quarter, is home to the dessert bar known as Carmella's. There's a large variety of cakes and pastries you can pair with a tasty cocktail. The bar is illuminated with blue and purple ambient lights. I ordered the coconut cream cake with a coconut shaving exterior. To say it was delicious would simply be an understatement. Take a trip here after a nice dinner with loved ones. Carmella's is also a fantastic date spot in the city.

BEECH

Beech is two blocks away from the College of Charleston. They serve refreshing smoothie bowls and smoothies to students and the general public alike. I recommend the acai bowl with granola, strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, bananas with coconut shavings on top and a drizzle of local honey. Beech is such a great, casual place to get something quick and healthy.

KING STREET COOKIES

King Street is the main hub in the city of Charleston with shops, family run restaurants and a fun atmosphere. King Street Cookies is a sweet tooth's dream. The location sells a wide range of mouth watering cookies. Just picture a warm cookie with melted chocolate and a possibly some milk to go with it. From fudge pecan to M&M to a brownie flavor, KSC will not disappoint. Take a trip here and get a cookie, most likely a few, with your friends!

HANK'S SEAFOOD RESTAURANT

Hank's is a local favorite seafood restaurant within downtown Charleston. The restaurant has more of an elegant feel to it so make sure you dress the part. You can't go wrong with the seafood selections on the menu including the halibut and calamari. If you're looking to have a date night with your partner, look no further than this gem. The restaurant is a 4.7 rated one and is not the option for those who are looking for a cheap meal.

ELI'S TABLE

Let me preface this article by saying you will absolutely regret not paying Eli's a visit during your time in Charleston. This a place where I recommend you get there close to the time it opens as it fills up so quick you'll end up waiting an hour or two to sit down. I ordered the steak and eggs with home fries on the side. The space is so clean and welcoming. I loved the service as well as the atmosphere. I loved the fact the staff didn't make our group feel rushed at all.

O-KU SUSHI

O-Ku is not only the best sushi in Charleston, it's the one of the best I have ever had. I suggest making a reservation on OpenTable as this spot fills up to the brink especially for dinner. I took the opportunity to sit at the sushi bar and watch as it was being prepared. The mood lighting in the restaurant fits so well and gives off such a cool vibe. This spot is a 10/10 date spot for those wondering where to impress your partner. You simply cannot go wrong with anything on the menu at this gem of King Street!
