When you think of Amsterdam, a foodie city doesn't really cross your mind. Yet over the past few years, the dutch metropolis took huge strides to progress in this department. Pluk is a trendy, healthy two story restaurant. Smoothie bowls and salmon, avocado toast highlight the menu as they are both so incredibly tasty. You will find it on Reestraat street by the Red Wing Store.

VAN WONDEREN STROOPWAFELS
Stroopwafels are dutch desserts comprised of two light and airy waffles with a warm, caramel filling to keep everything together. These were made originally for Dutch fisherman to keep warm as they returned home from a grueling work day. Now, Van Wonderen has made it into a can't miss shop with so many delicious flavors and toppings. Before getting on the train at Amsterdam Centraal Station, you should consider grabbing a warm stroopwafel!

PANCAKES.AMSTERDAM
After an early tour of the Anne Frank House to beat the lines, take a trip for breakfast to Pancakes.Amsterdam. Dutch pancakes are a restaurant staple. They are not your typical pancakes with butter and syrup. The pancakes all come in a unique fashion. For example, I received the pancakes with turkey bacon, zucchini slices and guacamole on top. It sounds crazy, yet it was one of my favorite meals in Amsterdam during my stay.

Picture this, you're walking out of Amsterdam Centraal in need of a quick snack before work or before going to your hotel/Airbnb. How does eating at the best french fry vendor in the Netherlands sound? Good? Great! This french fry hub makes fresh fries all day with an wide variety of dipping sauces including truffle mayo and pesto. Take your paper cone of fries and take in the stunning views of the Dutch canals.

Finally, the sushi icon makes sense right!? Sumo Sushi provides authentic style sushi for tourists and locals alike. I recommend making a reservation beforehand via their website, which as always I will provide below. The picture shows my personal favorite, the nigiri style sushi with a slab of fish on top of some white rice. They have options for those who are adventurous and also for your California roll loving friends.

RAINBOWLS AMSTERDAM
Smoothie bowls are taking the foodie world by storm and Rainbowls is a terrific addition to the movement. They serve up bowls which are so artistic and creative, you can't help but take a picture on social media. The bowls are half of a coconut. You should definitely aim to get to this place close to when it opens to avoid any potential waits because it's a popular local spot.
